If FF is running, go the web page and go the config section – expand the advanced section and set debug/log level to 5 (maximum is 9).
If you can’t do that, edit the .conf file and change debuglevel = 5.

cant see anythin obvious on the logfile: I know now that the router seems to be functional as the laptop is working a treat now.Log file: firefly.log

Ok, which soundbridge do you have, is it the roku or pinnacle one ?
The only reason I ask, is that the pinnacle one only talks via the rsp protocol which is only available with the nightly builds e.g. 1596
