    If FF is running, go the web page and go the config section – expand the advanced section and set debug/log level to 5 (maximum is 9).

    If you can’t do that, edit the .conf file and change debuglevel = 5.

    ok, rolled back the version to the one on the disc that came with the SB, and ff is firing up. still not being seen on SB though!
    cant see anythin obvious on the logfile: I know now that the router seems to be functional as the laptop is working a treat now.

    Ok, which soundbridge do you have, is it the roku or pinnacle one ?

    The only reason I ask, is that the pinnacle one only talks via the rsp protocol which is only available with the nightly builds e.g. 1596

    I think the most stable version for Windoze is 1586 from
    http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org/Firefly%20Media%20Server%20(svn-1586).exe
