the mt-daapd 1206 nightly tarball doesn’t have the mt-daapd.playlist in it anwhere.

Is the smart playlist stuff kept in sqlite now?

Is there any documentation that I could access on the language for the smart playlists?

yup, exactly. it’s made to be entered from the web interface rather than directly. I’ve been convinced by others that this is a misfeature, so it will probably come back *out* of the database at some point (although still preference for editing via the web).

You can enter new smart playlists from the “smart” tab on the web interface.

Ya. it’s very close to the old syntax, but details are here.

If you were to digest that and turn it into a nice html-ey help page that I could link into the smart playlist page, that would be groovy. plus, you’d be famous.

    Worth a shot.

    🙂

    Ron:

I’ll see what I can do. I have very little practical HTML experience but I can certainly whip up a help page and run it by you to see if it’s what you’re looking for.

Once I get the text format ironed out, I can go about HTMLizing it for you. It’ll be good practice for me.

It’ll take me a few days. I want it to be fully descriptive but not too cluttered – a delicate balance.

I’ll run it by some people at work and home as a test to see if I’ve hit the technical bullseye or gone too overboard.
