Video Sharing & FrontRow compatibilty

I’ve been trying for the past few days to get mt-daapd serving videos from my buffalo terastation to a laptop running frontrow.

Through minor hacking I’ve managed to get video sharing to iTunes to work (iTunes seems to neglect to insert a comma when requestiong com.apple.has-video which causes mt-daapd’s metadata requuest recognizer to barf a bit).

Audio files play fine in FrontRow, but video files fail with an unknown filetype error. I modified the code for setting the Content-Type header to send “video/mp4” (which is what iTunes sends), but to no avail. Not sure what else to try before I dig a lot deeper into reverse engineering front row.
