    Hi,

I have Firefly running on Ubuntu and serving up music to my Ubuntu laptop and my wife’s iMac. Realizing that I want to take my laptop out and about, I decided I should get a firewall set up, so I installed and ran Firestarter. A short time after that (I think it was around 10-15 minutes, Banshee stopped playing music from my server, so I checked and the server wasn’t listed. I had my wife check from her iMac to determine if the problem was my laptop or the server, and she could see it and play music fine. Turned off my firewall and within a few minutes the server was back, along with my wife’s iTunes library. Turned the firewall back on, and connection dropped again. I could still point my web browser to the admin page with the firewall on, but I can’t play any music.

Is there anything specific I need to do in order for my firewall to let music through? I didn’t really find anything for client-side firewall when I did a quick forum search. I can post the iptables rules after I get home from wrok today if need be.

    Search is your friend here.

I should’ve looked up firestarter instead of iptables. D’oh!
