Sorry for asking a possbly dumb question:

I have been looking through the transcoding HOWTO on the wiki to figure out how to include new file types, such as .ogg. However, the guide is in “Unixsh” and I run Windows. Is there a FAQ or HOWTO which describes the same steps on a Windows box? I have upgraded to version 1571 and can see there is a ssc-fmpeg plugin installed – but from there I am a bit lost.

    Thanks again for your patience.

It should transcode by default… nothing to set. Just make sure you have it set to scan for .OGG files. Both my SoundBridge and iTunes clients can happily play OGG, WMA Lossless, FLAC, etc.

I just added the .ogg extension to the list – and voila! there is was.

    Thanks,

    Claus
