I have an operational svn-1571 system, but tried building recent svn-1655 release, which compiles and installs without error, but crashes when I attempt to start the server resulting in a segmentation fault.

I got the same issue too.

I currently have installed svn-1359 which i built from a nightlies release.

Today tried svn-1659 and did same thing to install (“./configure –prefix=/usr –enable-sqlite3” “make” “make install”)

Tried to startup mt-daapd and get a segmentation fault from the command line not much useful in the system log.

Went back to svn_1359 by simply going back to it’s install directory and performing a “make install” and mt-daapd is working fine again.

architecture is a amd sempron PC using the i686 version of fedora core 6 with a rebuilt kernel 2.6.22

    Only got the following log:

Sep 26 22:31:55 gateway mt-daapd[14555]: Config entry general/compress is deprecated. Please review the sample config
Sep 26 22:31:55 gateway mt-daapd[14555]: Config entry general/playlist is deprecated. Please review the sample config
    Sep 26 22:31:55 gateway mt-daapd[14555]: Firefly Version svn-1659: Starting with debuglevel 9

The segmentation fault was seen at the command line when i ran mtdaapd -d9

See this was fixed in 1668 – just built and installed that. Same problem – once again not much in logs from a d9 and segmentation fault at the command line.

    SVN-1671 has same issue.

Something interesting i have noted. When I do a make install the libraries installed path is different in the newer build than in my working svn-1359. Could this be the issue and how do i rectify it?

Here is the output from a install between the two:

Something interesting i have noted. When I do a make install the libraries installed path is different in the newer build than in my working svn-1359. Could this be the issue and how do i rectify it?

point your plugin_dir to the new location ($prefix/lib/mt-daapd).

It’s not supposed to load *old* plugins, but that might be broken.
