I have lots of movies that I’ve encoded with Handbrake on my MacBook. I’d like to install Firefly Media Server on my OpenSolaris box to pair with my AppleTV and stream movies to the AppleTV so that they show up in the “My Movies” list like they do now when streamed from iTunes on my MacBook.

    Is this possible?

Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but searching on “AppleTV” returned zero threads.

Must be doing something wrong with the search command viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7520

Firefly can’t be paired with an AppleTV unless you mod the AppleTV.
Also, iirc, Firefly has a 2GB file size limit and doesn’t always work properly with video content. You just get the sound track.

Thanks for the answer. I’m kinda bummed, my master plan has been foiled.

Incidentally, that thread you pointed to still doesn’t show up in search results for “AppleTV” if I use the “Search…” box on the top right of the page. My thread shows up though. 😕

This forum was recently reinstalled due to massive amounts of spam.
Probably the search hasn’t been indexed properly.

Well then is it possible for when the Mac Version comes out
to use that as the server?
