Ok, so I’ve installed the newest version of Firefly and the necessary software on my Ubuntu 8.10 media server. Things were fine and working with itunes to my other pcs, but now Firefly will crash after playing a few songs if I’m lucky to get that far. On the configuration page it shows “Song: -1208852436.” This happens often if I restart Firefly and get things working again for a bit. Terminal is showing the following after running sudo mt-daapd -f:

Config entry general/playlist is deprecated. Please review the sample config
Firefly Version svn-1696: Starting with debuglevel 2
Error loading plugin /usr/lib/mt-daapd/plugins/ssc-script.so: plugin declined to load

    Plugin loaded: ssc-ffmpeg/svn-1696
    Plugin loaded: daap/svn-1696

Error: enum_begin failed (error 1): Misc SQL Error: database is locked
Can’t get db version. New database?
    Initializing database
    Error: enum_begin failed (error 1): ?
    Error: enum_begin failed (error 1): ?
    Full reload…
Error: enum_begin failed (error 1): Misc SQL Error: database is locked
Error getting song count: Misc SQL Error: database is locked
    Aborting

I’m not sure what to do and haven’t seen anyone else with the same problem. Thanks for any help on this!

Database locked. No idea what could cause the database to be locked except a half-way crashing firefly.
Try killing mt-daapd process, and delete the database.
Then restart mt-daapd. Should fix it. (Does a complete rescan though)

However, try raising debuglevel up till 9 and view the logfile after it locks to find out what could cause the database to get locked…
