Hi – I am a new user due to the release of iTunes 7 and the non compatibility of Soundbridge – I must advise that I am not teccy in any way but have got my music files playing wirelessly via my Soundbridge using Firefly. Problem is the server turns itself off without warning and I don’t know why or what to do about it. Can anybody help please?

When the server stops, it may have crashed. You can check the log file in c:program filesfirefly media serverfirefly.log and see if says anything interesting just before it crashes that might help explain what happened.

Also, in the Application section of your event log (control panel -> administrative tools -> event viewer), you can see error messages it probably logged before it stopped.

that looks to be the one it’s upset about. Move that out of the way, or name it something other than .mp3 and see what it does.

If that’s it, check to see it’s a valid file. That it really does play. If so, then try stripping the id3 tags and re-applying them. That will probably take care of it.
