Is this a question or a statement?

If it’s a question about how to resolve that, you could help by providing enough information to be able to resolve it. Some things to start with might be what operating system, what version of the software, and what happens when you try to start it — that is to say, how does it fail? Does it appear to start, but doesn’t appear in iTunes? Does it not start and print an error? Does the computer physically start on fire?

This might be helpful reading as well:

    Please help!!

I have had My Roku M1001 soundbridge for about a year… and it’s performance has been spotty at best. (lots of reboots, dropping the link, etc)

But just recently, my Firefly Media Server has been shutting down unexpectedly… with the orange logo turning red.

So, I thought I should uninstall and reinstall… so I uninstalled both Bonjour for Windows and Firefly for Windows… reinstalled them both, and now it won’t even start!! (I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling about 4 times now.)

    Here is my info:

    1) software version: 3.0.44
    2) ROKU Soundbridge M1001 (about one year old)
    3) I have a 10-month old Dell Dimension 9200 running Windows XP
    4) I use a Linksys “Wireless-G” 2.4 GHz 802.11g router
    5) I just downloaded the most recent version of iTunes
    6) When I try to start the server, I get the following pop-up: “Failed to start Firefly Media Server”
    7) I CAN NOT connect with the Web Interface.

When I click on “Debug Mode”, all I see is a split second view of the “Debug Window”, then it vanishes!

    Here is the log:

Not sure, but that startup looks okay.

Try going into the advanced config and changing the log level to 9. Save the file, and start it from the tray icon. Then post *that* log file.

Also, it might be worth deleting the songs.db (or songs3.db, whichever it’s called in your version) from program filesfirefly media server and then seeing if it will start up after that.

Might take a while, as it will be indexing all your files again.

Did you recently upgrade to iTunes 7.5? I did and had the same trouble. It turned out Bonjour was no longer installed on my machine (!?!). I ended up downloading and installing Bonjour again (http://www.apple.com/search/downloads/?q=bonjour) and it worked!
