Roku won’t play MP3 files properly using an SD/MMC card

I download some excellent BBC4 Podcasts to iTunes on my Macbook Pro. My Roku SoundBridge M400PX plays these MP3 files OK when picking up the signal from my Mac.

However, when I copy the files to my SD/MMC card for playing remotely on the Roku, the files start playing and stop after 20 seconds or so.

I notice the Mac file information shows that they are to be “opened with” iTunes. Should I be amending this to the Roku software (which must exist or it wouldn’t start at all!)? How could I do this, please?
