Rebuild the Database

I think I broke my Firefly install.

I’m running the version included in Ubuntu Feisty, and I needed to rename the directory where the library is stored. I changed the library location from the web administration page and saved, then set it to scan the library, and suddenly I started showing a lot more songs than I previously had, and see double entries when I connect from iTunes.

Is there a way I can wipe out the database and start over without reinstalling Firefly? I browsed the forums but didn’t see anything that looked like what I’m trying to do, even though I could swear I saw something like that before.

Thanks in advance for helping this n00b.

The easiest way is to delete songs.db and then force a rescan.

Unfortunately this will also wipe out any smart playlists you had.

Well, it won’t really matter since I only had 2 smart playlists and they weren’t that difficult to set up anyways.

I can’t seem to find songs.db, though. Where should I begin to look for it?

Nevermind. I found the database. It was songs3.db, in /var/cache/mt-daapd/
