    Hello!

Just installed Firefly on Ubuntu Hardy Heron, and I can see the server at http://192.168.0.25:3689/rsp/info
and the music shows up in iTunes and is playable.

    So far so good.

I have a Sony CPF-IX001 music player which should also work with Firefly.
This kit speaks DLNA if that means anything. I tried the dreadful software that it comes with under Windows and it works, but now I’d like a proper setup using Firefly.

tcpdump keeps telling me about SSDP, which wikipedia says is a service discovery protocol, and that this is not what Apple uses. I see lots of:

    IP 192.168.0.25.49153 > 239.255.255.250.ssdp: UDP, length 288

What can I try next to get this working?

Firefly supports the RSP and DAAP protocols to stream music.
DAAP is Apple’s protocol. So I really doubt a Sony device supports it.
RSP stands for Roku Service Protocol. It is licensed to Roku devices. (ie. Roku SoundBridge).

Where did you read/hear the device should work with firefly..?
