    Hi,

I’m running FF on a light nas device, streaming my media to a pinnacle SB.
The speed is acceptable (about 15 seconds to get the list of artists), but it would be nice if I could tune it up a notch. Previously, I had Twonky running and for the same number of artists it took only 5 seconds to load…

Is there some way (eg removing DAAP plugin, other DB, …) so I can increase the performance?

    Thanks!

    Regards,

    B.

You may need to create some indexes as described here http://forums.fireflymediaserver.org/viewtopic.php?p=9573#9573

Actually that index does not speed up the total artist list.
It speeds up displaying all albums/songs by a distinct artist.

Anywho, you might want to use the nightly versions of firefly, since there is constant improvement, as opposed to the “stable” releases.

Removing the DAAP plugin would only save you a little memory on your NAS device, but not speed up performance in general. Which device are you running firefly on, anyway?
Always interesting to see what boxes are capable of doing so. 🙂
