I have been using Firefly successfully on NSLU2 for the past year or more, however, after a couple of recent power outages, firefly was not running on the slug, i.e. no library/server in iTunes or on Soundbridge.

I figured it might be opportune to upgrade my version in any case, so i
    1.

    ipkg remove mt-daapd

        Removing package mt-daapd from root...
    killall: mt-daapd: no process killed
    prerm script returned status 1

oh? okay, well mt-daapd wasn’t running before I started so right???

    2.

    ipkg update

    everything going to plan here…

    3.

    ipkg install mt-daapd
    Installing mt-daapd to root...

and everything as expected here too…

    4.

    /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd

Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dynamic-link.h: 62: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion `! "bad dynamic tag"' failed!

    5. Confused???? What’s wrong? Is this a known issue? Is there a know workaround? What have I done wrong?

Might be a good idea to check your slug startup log with dmesg.

You may have disk corruptions ?

maybe an e2fsck is required ?

Which seems to agree with what your saying about disk corruption… I ran e2fsck also and…

    #e2fsck

Do I need to get a new flash drive and unsling from start???

    Hi Brian,

you need to tell it which device.

have a look at this thread http://forums.fireflymediaserver.org/viewtopic.php?t=5847&highlight=e2fsck
