I’ve got mt-daapd running on debian box connected by ethernet to a wireless router.

My laptop running iTunes 7.1 can see the shared library if I start (or restart) mt-daapd after I start iTunes. Conversely, if I start iTunes when mt-daapd is already running it won’t see it.

This happens using both 0.2.4 and the nightly build of mt-daapd.

The laptop is running OSX (10.4.9), iTunes 7.1

    Any ideas?

First idea: provide sufficient information 😉

An idea would be what’s described as the first Q/A there: wireless (since its a notebook) and no multicasting?

    OK, ok!

    Thanks for the quick response

    Laptop is OSX 10.4.9
    ITunes is 7.1
    mtdaapd is nightly 1498
    server is Debian sarge
server connected by ethernet, laptop by wireless

Can find no reference to multicasting in the router’s config. Does that mean that it likely doesn’t support it?

OK, I think I’ve sorted it by disabling IGMP (?) on my router.

    Thanks for the pointer CRCDude
