Hello there, I am considering turning an old computer(my current router) into an ubuntu server, and making my beefy windows2k3 server into a clarkconnect server/router.

The system in question is a dell optiplex celeron 600mhz, 128MB ram, and ~8GB hdd. About the only thing I’d be running on this is torrentflux, and of course firefly. I wouldn’t be using any of the transcoding features of firefly, just as an itunes music server for my local lan. Do you think it will be able to hold its own?

Also I have considered running firefly/torrentflux under clarkconnect, but apparently traffic shaping will not work on anything that is on the box itself. So if I were to be running torrents they would not get shaped if TF was running under clarkconnect.

It runs ok on an asus wl-hdd, which is a 200Mhz MIPS box and 16Mb of ram, so I don’t think you’ll run into any problems.
