I am running mt-daapd 0.2.4.2 on gentoo. I assume that this is actually firefly.

I have two daap shares defined.

Share A works perfectly – I can play music via itunes – it has 770 files in the share.

I cannot get itunes to play from Share B. I can see the share, but when i click on it, itunes says “Loading Share B” for 5~10 seconds, and then returns to my main music library.

This share has 45000 files in it

Is there a problem with itunes loading large libraries from firefly?

Well, it would definetly take a while as iTunes loads ALL playlists (static and smart) and all the other stuff off the share.
Either way, I’d suggest yuo update to firefly svn-15xx ish.
    Grab those files from http://nightlies.fireflymediaserver.org

they use sqlite as backend, and not gdbm, which is a lot faster.
