Issue: iTunes is not seeing the Firefly server

I will try here to give as much info as I know right now. Here are the basics and the details are below if you want the quick read!

      Installed from Mandriva 2010 URPMI
      Listed as svn1696
I can see the webpage from other machines in the house, just can’t see anything in iTunes
Running iTunes 9 on Win7x64 and Win7x86 and iTunes 8 on XP Home
Bonjour apears to be enabled on all machines in windows firewall. Linux box firewall is all open.
      Running DD-WRT on Router
Sharing iTunes in v9 from Win7x64 the Win7x86 machine CAN see it
      The var/run/mt-daapt folder is empty
service started as root and user set to mt-daapt (same as some of the folder permissions, this fixed the first issue of the db not being created

    Firefly page from Win7x64 machine

THANKS for any and all help… We have always been a WinAmp family from a multiple user/pc environment and the new iPods don’t work with it 🙁

I don’t know what to check to make sure it is broadcasting on the network, I know the webpage is working!

Ok, I think I have figured out the MAIN part and can now see the server and play music from it!!

Lots more reading, lots more digging and finally found what I was looking for when I read the urpmi distribution note for the 30th time… avahi..

Looks like all I had to do was create a service file to let it know to broadcast. One comment line about configuring avahi in the distribution would be of great help, or the distribution having the service file..
