    Hi folks,

Running build 1376 on Gentoo and trying to connect from iTunes 6.0.5

I can connect fine and the server delivers the music library to iTunes but when trying to the play any songs iTunes sits at the start of the song and does not play them

I turned logging right up to 9 and the log reports no obvious errors

It’s like mt-daapd is telling iTunes the song is only 4096 bytes …

Tried running as root to ee if it’s a permissions issue, gave everyone full permissions on the music files. The files are not protected ac4, windows firewall is off and gentoo box has no firewall …

I’m stumped … any offers of help?

My guess is that those files aren’t “fast-start” enabled. Were they encoded with iTunes, or something else, like faac or nero?

If not iTunes, then it’s the fast-start issue. Search the board for fast-start, and you’ll come up with a link to a utility to fix the files.
