I am running a maxtor mss shared storage drive. It is running 2.6.2 firmware openmss1-rc2. I have installed twonky and firefly, firefly is Version svn-1696.

All went well with the install but the firefly server just stops responding. When this happens i cant see the drive in itunes, neither can i see the config page in a browser on either a windows machine or a mac, i just get http error page not found. If i telnet to the server and do a ps /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da is not listed anymore. If i retype /opt/etc/init.d/S60mt-daapd then it works again for a while. I have turned off the maxtor media server and disabled the maxtor power management making sure the drive never spins down. The twonky server functions perfectly all the time, even when the firefly server has stopped responding. Any ideas? I have reinstalled the firme=ware and the firefly server but it makes no difference.

    Thanks in advance

    1140 root 1540 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
, i waited 10 mins, did it again and got

    1136 root 116 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1137 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1139 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1140 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1273 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1275 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    , a few moments later i got

    1136 root 116 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1137 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1139 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1140 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1273 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1275 root 4052 S /opt/lib/ld.so.1 /opt/sbin/mt-daapd -c /opt/etc/mt-da
    1276 root 648 R ps

That file is there, or it wouldn’t scan it. It might be that you can’t get to it from windows because of the strange characters in the filename, but it’s there.

It may not be that file though. Try turning up the debuglevel in the config file to 9 and running the scan again. that might give you more information.
