    Hi there,

I,m a Newbie here and I have two Q:s if anybode could be kind enough to help me.

Q1: When trying to enter the Big Report on Firefly’s homepage i Get a login request. Why? How can I get in and register me there.

Q2: I use Windows XP Pro and Bonjour/Firefly and Firely should start on Windows startUp, but if I cheque the activity icon it is red AND config says it ic currently running. If I open config, stops the server and then starts again, it says server is running but this time the activity icon has the right orange color and says the server is running.

A bug?? Can anybode please inform me?

    /Magnus

I think you’ve got some kind of timing thing. That is, it’s starting and stopping, and it takes a bit sometimes for the tray icon to update.

The error you are getting in your log looks like the error that people with McAfee are reporting on the forums. A recent nightly (http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org) or the most recent Roku beta (Check the forums, in the Firefly group) should fix it.

    Hi there,

I use Kaspersky Labs Antivirus. It seem that the server is on and that the only flaw is taht the icon is red and says not running, but the streaming is working fine anyway and that’s the main thing. Odd though, I think.
I will install the new version when the sharp is ready and I think you have done a marvelleous work with the Firefly.
What I notice when I stream all my MP3:s and other files is the really great soundquality and beware, I have been a real HiFi-high end buff before I got into computers and had to choose one of the hobbies.
Thank you for this great work with FF.

PS there is no file I should remove??

In that case, is it possible that you aren’t an administrator on the machine? That could possibly be it as well.

    hi.

I’m afraiad I am admin on this machine bit it seems the server is working 100 % fine and the only thing that is wrong is that the icon is red and the baloon says … not currently running, but is IS running and working fine.

If I open config and STOP the server and then start again the icon gets orange and ok message. Strange.

BTW, would it be possible to run this server on a future Vista??

    32 or 64 bit?

    Hi again,

Sorry to say, the server does NOT always run even if the config says yes and the icon is red.

I have to sometimes twice stot/start and after the last Start it may work.
Very annoying. What could it be?

I’d have to see the log information, but as I mentioned above, it looks like you are having a virus scanner conflict. The fix is to upgrade to newer nightlies or the roku 1.1b version.

Was it claiming that it wasn’t running during that period? Becirse it sure looked okay from here.

    Yes,
it was really claiming just that.

I will se if I can find the 1.1 b, no stability problem there I hope.

Could I run FF on Vista?

Should. I’ve heard reports that the tray config won’t let you change items, leading one to believe that the .ini file gets installed with insufficient permissions to edit it, but I haven’t verified it. (And am not convinced of the veracity of the report). I just barely got my vista installed, so we’ll see tonight.

    That’s very interesting.

BTW, even the 1.1b gives red icon on startup.
Perhaps the sharp version will fix it.
