    I have following setup:
THECUS 5200pro NAS running firefly svn-1586, with all mp3 files as well as itunes library.
    Soundbridge 1001 (wired)
XP local PC (wired) with itunes running (using the library on the thecus)

Soundbridge and itunes display the firefly libraries (but empty).
The root for the Musicfolder should be correct (/raid0/data/musik/)
with the root for the playlist file I am not sure if it should point to the itunes library. Presently (/raid0/data/musik/library/itunes library.xml)

The Thecus is running also a mediabolic music server. This one finds the mp3 files without problem.

    Thanks for any help.

I don’t have one of those, so I’m not real sure. The things to look for would be to see that after startup, mt-daapd throws off either 2 or 4 processes. If you only see 1 or 3, then the mdns responder isn’t running.

Also, check to see if you have a firewall on either your client PC or on the server.

Another thing to check would be to see if there is any other mdns server running on that machine already — it might be called “avahi-daemon” (or is it “avahi-server”?), or mDNSResponder. If it is, then that’s likely the problem.

Those are the things I can think of off-hand.
