When I click on “start server”, straightaway I get “Failed to start Firefly Media Server”. I was getting this with the previous version, and now I have downloaded the latest nightly, and still the same. Here’s the info I have copied and pasted. I am running Windows XP Service Pack Two. Zone Alarm firewall (but I have tried disabling it – still the same); AVG anti-virus; and System Mechanic (could that have taken out a necessary file?) All help gratefully received. Thank you.

Was working fine with Soundbridge (all s/w from soundbridge CD i.e. 1.0 svn-1359), stopped using soundbridge for a while, now come back to it again, but now getting the “Failed To start” when clicking the Start Server button.
quite a few PC changes in interim, so difficult to pin it down to anything specific
PC is now on XP SP3 ( was sp2 when 1st installed)
iuninstalled / re-installed whole soundbrige s/w – no changeCould do with some trouble shooting guidance please, what should we be checking for / looking at to sort “Failed to Start”
12/06/2008 at 10:32 PM #16609StevenCParticipantI’m XP SP2, for what it’s worth.
No major changes in my system. I did update iTunes and added some other software, but I don’t see any obvious explanation.

23/06/2008 at 12:03 PM #16612fizzeParticipantWinpcap is a low level network capture library, normally part of wireshark (formerly known as ethereal) and other network or security tools.
It’s not part of a standard windows install.

It’s installed by Roku’s Radio Snooper software. If you don’t use the snooper, you don’t need winPcap.
