error: 500general:mp3_dir in Ubuntu 8.04

FF can’t locate any of my music files, when I go into admin and change the music folder location and try to save it I get the following error:500general:mp3_dir.

Any help would be appreciated. I’m very new at this. Thanks.

Which version of Firefly are you using? I think svn-1586 sometimes throws up that error even if there’s nothing wrong.

Check access permission on the directory. If the directory + all subdirectories & files are not set to provide read only access to everyone then Firefly won’t see them.

It can also be directory name issue. I had this problem and it was because i was typing in the directory name wrong.

This particularly important if you have or are using caps in the directory name.
