Hi! I’m getting the below when attempting to run this

    # /usr/sbin/mt-daapd -f Starting rendezvous daemon
    Couldn’t lookup user xxxxx
    Error in drop_privs: Success
    Aborting

Obviously my name in the place of the x’s. I definately do exist though, I promise! Anyway, thought someone might be able to shed some light on the subject!

    Thanks!

Check to make sure you don’t have a space behind that.

You could also try the uid, rather than the name. But if you get that message, it means that getpwnam failed. I can’t imagine why that would fail unless you have typoed the user (or there is a hidden blank, or other control character or something behind the name).

Um, don’t I feel silly, I could have sworn (how many fixes have you saying that) anyway, there was a tab stop after my name, don’t know why, but it’s going!

    Thanks!
