    Not sure if there is something going on with these FLAC files themselves, but I’ve never seen this problem before. Granted I didn’t create these FLAC files myself, but they come from a trusted and reliable source …

    Disappointingly there is really no good debugging information here that leads me to understand why this is happening.

    Any ideas?

    Try out to manually run the ssc-ffmpeg script with the said file, and check for any obvious errors.
    Also check if the resulting file is playable.

    Also makes me wonder what happens if you play other BritPop music 😀
