LOADING FIREFLY ON A SYNOLOGY 207+
Disclaimer: Note that not all of the prerequisites or steps may be necessary such reinstalling your Synology or loading a particular version of firmware. I am not an expert nor did I test more than this particular configuration so therefore I included all of the steps that I actually performed to accomplish the use of Firefly which I know worked on my machine. I you don’t want to re-install your Synology or use the particular version of firmware, try everything but those steps you want to omit and see if you are successful. Also, I apologize that all the copying inside of the 2.07+ OS may not be the most efficient way of doing things.
Prerequisites
1. Back up existing data on your 207+ onto another storage location in preparation for reinstalling the NAS.
2. Download the firmware DSM 2.0-0598 found here: http://www.synology.com/enu/support/download.php#DS207+
3. Download the corresponding Synology Assistant software (use same version as your firmware) found here: http://www.synology.com/enu/support/download.php#DS207+
4. Download Enable telnet patch found here: http://www.synology.com/enu/support/download.php#Patches
5. Download SQLite 3.5.2 here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UYM5316L
6. Download GDBM Libraries here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LDGDKKNI
7. Download Libid3tag here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I711HSQZ
8. Download Firefly build 1696 (compiled for Marvell) here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LV6JZ265

Steps
1. Install the firmware update downloaded above in step 2 using directions on page 48 of the Synology User Guide.
2. Reinstall your Synology with the downloaded Synology Assistant from step 3 above using directions on page 25 of the Synology User Guide.
3. Setup the administrator password
4. Setup a folder named “publicâ€
