I just installed mt-daapd on a FreeBSD box. The shares appear on my Ubuntu client w/o fail using an ethernet connection, but results were variable via wireless; sometimes the server showed up, other times not. Putting the host Atheros wireless NIC in promiscuous mode appears to have solved the problem.
