Could his security or firewall settings be causing problems with Java, or could it be that bonjour needs to be installed on his PC??
His is at http://ip.address:9999, rather than 3689 (since iTunes uses 3689). that’s likely it.
His firewall will have to allow inbound tcp 9999, though.
