I then get the windows screen of ” firefly has encounted a problam and needs to close”

i have uninstalled and then loaded both programs agin but with no luck .

i am running windows xp sp2 ,

Probably a file it’s unhappy with.

If you use the option for “advanced configuration”, it should put you into notepad with the configuration right there. Find the one for “debuglevel”. Change it to 5 and save it.

If there is no entry for debuglevel, just add a line like:

debuglevel = 5

right under the entry for “logfile”.

Once you have saved that, start the server from the tray. Wait for it to crash, and look at the “log” tab on the tray applet. It will show you the file that made it crash. Move that file out of the way and start the server again.
