Hi all,
Maybe I got it all wrong. Do I need iTunes to use FirePlay? I have never used iTunes so i’m not familar to DAAP-codes, rsp and iTunes library. I’m also new to Windows Home Server. Now I’m locking for a program that will stream my mp3 files over the Internet. I found the FirePlay and it seems to be a nice tool. But it will not work for me.
I’ve installed Bonjour, FireFly (svn1696) and have put the FirePlay files into the admin-root of the installation folder for Firefly. The firefly server is up and running on port 9999. I have configure the config file with an password and pointed it to the shared folder for music where I have put a few records for test.
The config file of Firefly have found my 22 songs. But when I connect to the FirePlay it’s not listing any songs. I can also see that I’m connected to http://server:9999. After a few hour trying to figure it out I downloaded and installed iTunes. Immediately it recognize the Firefly Media Server and it’s content.
What am I doing wrong?
