I tried your suggestion, as follows:

BusyBox v1.00-pre2 (2006.02.01-23:21+0000) Built-in shell (msh)
Enter ‘help’ for a list of built-in commands.

# export PATH=/bin:/sbin
#
# unexport LD_LIBRARY_PATH
unexport: not found
#
# ipkg install ncurses nano
Installing ncurses (5.6-1) to root…
Downloading http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/mss/cross/unstable/ncurses_5.6-1_mipsel.ipk
ipkg: invalid magic

I’m still having the same problem. I also tried following the directions in the links provided, but the directions seem geared toward a person much more familiar with Linux then I am. I’m looking for very specific instructions – I’ll type whatever you suggest into Putty, exactly as described, but any instructions that suggest changing a directory or downloading a file and installing from another location, without explicit instructions, I can’t handle. I’m learning, but I need someone to “dumb this down” for me.

Is there any way to just start all over?

Thanks in advance for your help and patience. This is probably as frustrating for you as it is for me (and my family!)
