See, I’ve heard this on feisty from several people… Is this a real feisty package, or is it an edgy package from universe?
I’ve just used apt-get to install it, so it may well be the wrong version. May be the problem…
I can’t figure it because it runs fine on my feisty box, although I’m compiling it from source.
I’ll have to try compiling from source then I suppose.
Is avahi-daemon running? (ps auxw | grep -i “avahi”)
Yep.
Did you try a package from the nightlies page (http://nightlies.mt-daapd.org), because that’s compiled for feisty rather than from universe.
That’s an even better option than building from source. I’ll give it a shot.

That has some info that might be relevant.
Hmm, I’m pretty sure I don’t have a firewall set up; I suspect what you implied is right – that the version that apt-get is picking up is not a feisty build. I’ll check it out.
Thanks for your help!
