Running mt-daapd on a Freecom FSG-3, everything was fine until a few days ago when I had to re-install the OS. mt-daapd seems to start fine, the web interface reports the right number of tracks found, the server appears in iTunes and the track-list appears complete. However, nothing will play. No error messages, just no noise. If I leave it five seconds or so and choose another track, iTunes lists the (!) error tag next to the song.

The service runs as “nobody”, and the media folder & all files ar chmod’d to 777.

    What did I miss?

Lots of forum scouring, several re-installs and a glass of wine later, I deleted the songs.gdb file and restarted the box. Everything worked.
